Lake Erie
College Student Recreation Center
Awarded in 2005 for Ductwork

Two gyms and a locker room, weight room and office were installed
with very large 40-ft exposed spiral ductwork. The spiral is double
walled and insulated for noise control, but that, plus the height
from the floor, made installation challenging.
East Fourth Street Rehabilitation
Awarded in 2006 for Mechanical Piping

This is the first time an entire street has been snowmelt protected
in the city, and the street and sidewalk contain over 42,000ft of
3/4-in Wirsbo tubing buried in concrete under the brick pavers,
which would make it difficult for plowing. The system keeps the
street from being ruined by salt as well.
Magnificat High School Performing Arts Center
Awarded in 2005 for Ductwork
This large oval spiral ductwork exposed in the ceiling of the
performing arts center is installed 50 ft. above a slanted
auditorium floor and follows the pitch of the roof. The size and
number of angles needed, plus the size and weight of the ductwork,
makes this an exceptional installation.
Focal Communications
Awarded in 2001 for Mechanical Piping
Certificate of Appreciation from
The National Committee of Employer Support for the Coast Guard and
